Adam and I are super excited about our online move this Spring! We plan to focus our creativity on our custom designs of case goods and occasional pieces that will be uniquely-designed, locally-made with the high-quality and craftsmanship that we are known for! Our design services of custom design/builds as well as residential and commercial design services will still be offered via http://ideadesignmake.com/
The bricks-and-mortar was a blast when we began, however with the noble cause of showcasing other people's works of art and designs (not just our own), the fundamental goal that we had together got lost. We are both happy that the store did great and proved to be a success! However, we had an 'ah-ha' moment in November when we realized that this (being a shopkeeper) is not designing product.
Also, the consignment aspect of our business was supposed to be a small part of the overall, but all of those re-designs of second-hand items, constant consultations with others on what they could or should do to items that they have or would like to sell at our shop became a lot of work away from our personal design projects. Not to mention, manning a register and waiting for walk-ins seemed like a time-buster, when there is always so much that can be done in the shop or at our studio.
With that said, we are looking forward to the opportunity to focus on what it really is that we would like to share with our friends, associates, community, and the world - our designs!
